The Seeker

by Jessa Michaels and Freddy Jacquin:

Let me tell you a story of a traveller a seeker of knowledge, a man that thought he must journey far distances to find his place in the world.

He was always seeking, always looking. First he looked for it within all the tangible things of this world, money, possessions, marriage, gold. He couldn’t find “it” there. He looked for it in books and began his studies. He reached the highest level of “higher education” and he couldn’t find it there either. He travelled the globe and went searching for it but couldn’t find it there either. He finally decided he couldn’t find it “out there” and so he started searching for someone who had it already and could teach him how to get “it”.

One day this traveller came upon a teacher, a man who’s eyes shone brightly and his natural calm intelligence and personality was as dazzling as the sun.

“I see how you smile brightly,” the traveller said to the wise one, “May I fetch you a beverage in exchange for your advice on where to find the happiness and serenity that you feel?”

“That sounds good!” The man said as he sat down beside the traveller. The sun was just setting, and the mountain side where they were sitting,.overlooked the most beautiful lake.
This sky's fiery majesty reflected in the lake illuminating the mountains and the land they were surrounded by.

“This lake,” the teacher began with magic in his voice, “reflects the full moon once every month, and every time the full moon fills this lake with its light, you can feel an immense gravitational force pulling you down, making it feel difficult for you to rise and shine as you deserve.

This though as with everything else in our life is just an illusion, It is only our interpretation of this natural feeling. We could look at the gravitational force that we feel at times as the force that keeps us grounded, quite literally, ‘keeps our feet on the ground’.

You have been searching for many years to find your place, your home in the world, your reason, your purpose for being. As we look out upon the lake and the mountains that surround it, for a moment let us contemplate the lake. It is the environment that gives life to countless incredible wonderful creatures. It enables people to travel and supplies water to the plant life that grows along its banks. Do you think the lake ponders its purpose? Look at the majestic mountains that capture the clouds that create the rain that supply the rivers that run into the lake and give shelter to the birds and animals that live on those mountains.

Do you think the mountains ponder their reason for existing? Your purpose is to live your best life, to be kind to anyone who needs kindness. To love and allow yourself to experience love, to experience all the joys of life that have been created for you to enjoy. To live fearlessly, to love fearlessly and to be true to yourself, whatever that truth may be.

When you stop searching you will find that you were home all along, that where you are in this moment is exactly where you are meant to be. That change occurs from the inside out, not from the outside in. The essence of your, ‘Self’ is pure light, energy and love. Your true journey of discovery will start when you realise this and allow yourself to experience a pure unconditional self-love. Then you can start your journey from the inside out and no longer search outside of yourself for the answers to where you belong.

The traveller looked silently at the old wise man, who was still transfixed on the reflection of the sky on the lake, and said quietly as a silent tear rolled down his cheek, “Thank you”. He realised that he was home.
